This Commune Panchayat is supplying potable drinking water with required chlorination to the public from daily morning (6:00 AM to 9:00 AM), Afternoon (1:00 PM to 2:00 PM) and Evening (5:00 PM to 8:00 PM) from the deep bore wells. If any break down the same will be restored within 48 hours. It is maintained by 2 nos plumbers of this office headed by 1 Assistant Engineer and 3 Junior Engineers. This Commune Panchayat 47 nos of water supply system with 22 nos of fixed Generators and 7 Nos of Mobile Generators which included OHT & Pump house in various villages of this Commune.

The 10 Nos of hire tractor tippers have been engaged by this office for the removal of Garbages from all streets of villages in Bahour Commune. During rainy season this Commune Panchayat is deploying 2 Nos of Sanitary workers for spraying the chemicals for eradication of mosquitoes. A fogging machine also used to eradication of mosquitoes in all villages of this Commune.

Against public petition and problem sites, the stray pigs are being caught by this office and they have been left in beyond border areas. In respect of stray dogs, this CP is set to carry out ABC operation to the expertise of Blue Cross Society as done in Puducherry Municipality. It is monitored by 3 Nos maistries headed by 1 Assistant Engineer and 3 Junior Engineers. This Commune Panchayat has engaged 10 Nos of Hire Tractor Tippers for collection & Transportation of garbages collected regularly from the streets of various villages of this Commune to the dumping yard at Bahour. And also 10 Nos of Sanitary workers has been deputed to clean the drains, bushes and removal of chockage of drain in various villages of this Commune.

The major receipt of Birth & Death reports are from the two Medical Colleges namely Mahatma Gandhi Medical College & Research Institute, Pilliyarkuppam & Aarupadai Veedu Medical Hospital, Kirumamapakkam are being registered in this Commune along with receipt of other report from the Primary Health Centers at Bahour, Kirumampakkam and Karayambuthur & Sub-centers at Seliamedu and Pilliyarkuppam This Commune Panchayat is facilitated to serve Birth & Death Certificates registered from the year 1978 to till date by Computer and also it will be get through any Common Service Center (CSC). This Commune Panchayat registering the Marriage held in this Commune and also conducting Register Marriage in the presence of Registrar cum Commissioner of this Office subject to the receipt of consent letters from the concerned. A UDC has been deputed for this Section for the issue of Birth, Death & Marriage certificate.

The Engineering services involves civil constructions / maintenance works of Anganwadi building, Recreation center, Community Hall, Cultural Stage, Thrashing floor, Karumathi Shed, Cremation Shed and providing Roads, Drains in various villages in this Commune is being carried out under various head such as MLA grant, ADI-Welfare grant, MP grant, grant-in-aid, special grant if any and own fund of this Office. All the civil work such as constructions of Anganwadi building, Recreation center, Community Hall, Cultural Stage, Thrashing floor, Karumathi Shed, Cremation Shed and providing Roads, Drains in various villages in this Commune is been carried out by the Assistant Engineer with 3 Nos of Junior Engineers.

The Commune Panchayat is issuing Trade Licenses to the Traders/Industries in this Commune as per the Commune Panchayat act 1973. This Commune Panchayat is serving demand notice to the concerned for the collection of Property Tax, Water Tax, Professional Tax & Entertainment Tax. This commune Panchayat had already launched a website in 2018 for payment of Property Tax by the individuals concerned. A proposal also is under trial to implement the payment of License fees through online https://lgrams.puducherry.gov.in/tradelicence. A periodical Inspection also conducted by the Commissioner to find out the effective implementation of the rules and regulation of Commune Panchayat Act 1973 by the Traders / Industries concerned.

All the Street lights are maintained by Electricity Department and if any petition/proposal received for providing street lights are sent to Electricity Department by this office. The non-burning street lights report has been received from the Tank Operators concerned and the same are sent to concerned O & M of the Electricity Department for restoring the lights. As on today 2455 Nos of street lights are available:

A UDC has deputed for this Section to deal promotion and maintain the Records of the employees of this Commune Panchayat and also the salary of the employees is being deposited in the Bank concerned. All the staff salary is made through online only.

The Revenue to Bahour Commune Panchayat are through collection of Property Tax, Water Tax, Entertainment Tax, Professional Tax, License Fee, Stall Rent, rents of Kalayana mandapam / Community Hall, Issue of birth / death / marriage certificates etc… in addition to the development charges and duty on transfer of property. This commune Panchayat had already launched a website in 2018 for payment of Property Tax by the individuals concerned. 5 nos of Bill Collector / In-charges are deputed for this section for the collection of above said taxes.
